Book Launch Standardizing Sex - Ketil Slagstad in conversation with Susan Stryker
> Trans medicine is under siege. Across the United States and Europe, a growing number of bills and bureaucratic regulations seek to restrict access to medical treatment for trans people, especially young individuals. While this may seem like a symptom of the current political climate, the history of medicine suggests a deeper explanation: the politization of trans medicine is rooted in a long tradition of scientific and state efforts to standardize sex and protect the sex binary. Looking to the history of trans medicine and sex classification helps us better understand the political and scientific underpinnings of current debates.
Join Professor Susan Stryker–historian, filmmaker, and activist–in conversation with physician and historian Ketil Slagstad about his new book, Standardizing Sex. Expect a deep dive into the history of trans medicine from the 1920s to the present and how trans communities have shaped medical knowledge and norms about sex and gender.

When traditional banking systems fail or are inaccessible, cryptocurrency becomes a vital lifeline for those under blockade or in crisis zones. With German authorities increasingly using debanking to silence activists, these skills also protect your own financial autonomy and ability to organize. We'll cover the fundamentals: setting up your own wallet, understanding security basics, and sending funds safely. We'll share lessons from our Gaza aid work and explore how to expand these skills to support other communities facing crises. For more context: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Px9ohL06jrc

Turning Privilege Into Change
> A weekly conversation. How do we rebuild hope? How do we reimagine solidarity? How do we live into the world we so deeply want? During these times many of us are wondering how to use our own position and privilege to contribute better to those around us and to our wider communities. These weekly conversations are for those interested in learning a different way to address privilege and create systemic change. Bring your questions, concerns, fears, and experiences as we explore different topics each week. Each week will vary between exercises, games, and discussions to help develop tools and skills to create systemic change.
*Pay what you can, suggested €10-20/week
